On30 sawmill from scratch -- machinery (5)
Building the circular husk hardware.
The base is built from scale lumber:
I have printed out some saw blades and glued them on cardboard. Cut them out and painted them silver:
The flywheels are from Crow River Products. I scratchbuilt the small ones.
Here is the main axle with the sawblade and flywheels on:
Test fitting the axle on the wooden structure:
The wood is weathered:
Here are the othes axles on the lower assambly with the nut-bolt castings on:

On30 sawmill from scratch -- log raft at night
Some night time photos of the raft:
The focus is on the workshop inside:
Looking inside the window:
On30 sawmill from scratch -- log raft
The log raft is used to push and sort the logs in the pond. It is much safer than riding on a log.
I have seen a raft like this in the "Red Stag Lumber" On30 layout and decided to duplicate it.
The floor is made by individual boards on a wooden frame:
The building on it is framed from square scale lumber:
The side walls are corrugated styrene spray-painted in red:
The roof is made from corrugated aluminium glued on a cardboard strip:
