Scratchbuilding a class A Dunkirk (1)
Extending my locomotive rooster, I decided to build a class A Dunkirk with vertical boiler.
I started off with an Athearn SW7 chassis, took off the plastic and used only the mechanism:
I built the decking and the frame using board-by-board construction:
Here is the boiler, motor and water tank getting started on:
I also added NBW castings and knuckle couplers to the frame:

Coffee table progress -- repair car
New rolling stock scratchbuilt from styrene.
I took some old wheelsets and glued on a piece of styrene to make a flatcar:
Then made some junk from railroad ties and pipes:
Here is the flatcar with the load glued on it:
