Narrow and standard gauge (1)
The most complicated trackwork of the layout is the dual gauge next to the sawmill which splits
into separate standard and narrow gauges crossing two other tracks:

Trackwork started on the layout
First two turnouts are now built for the yard near the engine house and turntable.
This time I try a different approach and build the turnouts separately instead of in place like before.
Building the frog first as I spiked the rails down and flowed solder in the gap:
Then built the stock rails and closure rails while constantly checking for the correct gauge:
