I put two brass half-rings on the axle and added phosphor-bronze pickup strips that will lead to the power bus.
A cogwheel will be on the axle connected to the turntable motor, equipped with a smaller wheel:

Started to build the turntable for the layout.
It will be a 24cm long turntable (about 40 scale feet) that can hold the longest locomotive I have.
The turntable construction was described in the 2010 On30 Annual, link to the plans is here: Gallows turntable. I reduced a bit the length for my needs.
The base is a 1.8cm board, on which i started to build the lower spider rail:
